Governing Boards

The Session is composed of fifteen Elders elected by the congregation to serve a three year term. This board is responsible for the life of the church, delegating responsibility to the Deacons and Trustees. The Session has eight working councils: Membership, Worship and Music, Stewardship, Nominating, Christian Education, Mission, Congregational Care, and Public Relations.

The Board of Deacons consists of fifteen Deacons elected by the congregation to serve a three year term. The board is responsible for the ministries of compassion and service. They have fund raising projects such as the Mother’s Day Brunch and the Annual Deacon’s Auction. Proceeds from fund raisers assist people in need, provide college scholarships, and assist the youth program. They also host special events such as the Rally Day Picnic, Harvest Home Food Collection, Palm Sunday Pancake Breakfast, and the Sunday School Picnic and Antique Car Show.

The Board of Trustees consists of nine Trustees elected by the congregation to serve a three year term. This board is charged with caring for the financial health of the church, including payment of bills, maintenance of buildings and grounds, and management of investments.

Organizations

Presbyterian Women are a vital part of the life of the church. Their study groups enhance the spiritual life of the congregation, and their areas of service are many.

Circle Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month.

  • Circle 1 meets at 7:15 p.m.
  • Circle 2 meets at 9:30 a.m.
  • Mother’s Group meets at 10:00 a.m.

Gatherings are seasonal meetings that bring together women of the church with special speakers and programs.

Fund Raising Projects include the Teddy Bear Tea in the fall, The Christmas Bazaar and Luncheon, and the Spring Yard Sale.

Service for the church includes hosting fellowship and refreshments after worship, providing greeters, and facilitating the flower calendar. The women of the church also provide beautiful decorations that grace the sanctuary at Harvest Home, Christmas, Easter, and the Fourth of July.

Men’s Breakfast is a meeting of men in the church and community who breakfast together at 7:00 a.m. every other Wednesday. It is a time of good conversation, laughter, devotions and prayer.
